These terms apply to founding memberships bought on deedcase.com and to the Deedcase service. Deedcase is operated by [YOUR LEGAL NAME OR COMPANY NAME] (NZBN [NZBN]) ("we", "us"). By paying for a founding membership or using Deedcase, you agree to these terms.
1. Founding membership
- Deedcase is not yet available. A founding membership reserves your place and is a one-off payment, including GST: NZ$99 for one trust, or NZ$149 for the founding family plan.
- It covers 12 months, starting on the day we give you access to the app. The single plan covers one trust; the family plan covers up to 3 trusts managed under one login.
- Founding members can renew at the same price (NZ$99 or NZ$149 a year) for as long as their membership stays active. We'll email you before any renewal, and you can choose not to renew.
- We aim to launch in summer 2026–27. We'll keep you updated by email.
2. Refunds
- Before launch: email us any time and we'll refund your payment in full. You don't need to give a reason.
- If we don't launch: if Deedcase isn't available by 30 June 2027, we'll refund all founding members in full, automatically.
- After launch: if you're not happy within the first 30 days of access, email us for a full refund.
- Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986.
3. What Deedcase is, and isn't
Deedcase is a tool for keeping trust records, recording trustee decisions and preparing documents from standard templates. It is not a law firm and doesn't give legal, tax or financial advice. Templates are reviewed by a New Zealand lawyer before launch, but whether a document suits your trust depends on your trust deed and circumstances. You and your co-trustees remain responsible for your decisions and your duties as trustees. For anything complex, talk to your lawyer or accountant.

4. Your account and your records
- You're responsible for keeping your login secure and for the people you invite.
- Only add information you're entitled to hold and share as a trustee.
- Your trust's records belong to you. You can export them at any time, including when you leave.
- Electronic signatures in Deedcase are intended for documents that can lawfully be signed electronically, such as trustee resolutions and minutes, with the consent of all signers. Deeds and other documents with witnessing requirements may still need to be signed on paper.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use Deedcase to break the law, to store content you have no right to hold, or to interfere with the service or other users. We may suspend accounts that do.
6. Availability and changes
We'll work to keep Deedcase available and secure, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted. We may improve or change features over time. If we make a change that significantly reduces what you've paid for, you can cancel and receive a refund for the unused part of your membership.
If we ever decide to close Deedcase, we'll give you at least 90 days' notice so you can export your records, and refund any unused membership.
7. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make using Deedcase. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us in the previous 12 months. This doesn't limit any rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.
8. Changes to these terms
We'll update these terms before launch to cover the full app. We'll email you about significant changes before they take effect. If you don't agree, you can cancel for a refund of any unused membership.
9. General
These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and New Zealand courts have jurisdiction. Questions: hello@deedcase.com.
